‘The world will end on September 23’ – Christian numerologist

A group of Christian numerologists have claimed that the world will end September 23rd, next Saturday. According to them, a verse in the Bible proves that the end of the world is near. The verse is Luke 21: 25 to 26. Christian numerologists claim the Bible numbers match with August 21 – the date of the Great American Solar Eclipse; August 25 when Hurricane Harvey hit; and August 26 – when it flooded Houston in Texas. Luke 21: 25 to 26 reads: “25: There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “’26: Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.’ The Rapture is the second coming of Jesus Christ as prophesied in the bible. Revelations in the New Testament predicts that the Rapture wi…

ANAMBRA: How Change became a bone in the throat of APC

By Emmanuel Aziken,

Political Editor Anambra State was about to recast its ugly political side and become a showpiece for the All Progressives Congress, APC in the conduct of free and fair party primaries when the bad manners of the past suddenly came to choke the party that made change its philosophy

For a state that had since the advent of the Fourth Republic acquired an ugly reputation of bedlam, a free and fair process had undoubtedly looked like a high mountain for the Governor Kashim Shetima led panel constituted by the national leadership of the party to conduct the governorship primaries.

Though about 20 aspirants had indicated interest in the ticket of the ruling party, when push came to shove, only 11 bought the nomination forms of the party.

The most formidable was Senator Andy Uba, a former 17-day governor of the state, two-time senator and before then, arguably the most powerful aide to the president in the eight-year stint of President Olusegun Obasanjo. The others were D…
